Getting results from marketing takes hard work. Just like going on a diet, there isn’t a silver bullet or magic pill you can take and wake up in the morning with a perfect body.

There are things that can be done to help you achieve results that don’t include buying into expensive marketing click funnels and whatever the latest marketing fad is.

The number one tip is to be organised.

How do I get results from my marketing

By mixing traditional techniques with the latest platforms, marketing is essential to every company. Never in the history of marketing has there been so much measurement information available to track campaigns. Companies are not taking advantage of this data and those that do don’t always understand what it means.

What ingredients do you need to make marketing successful?

To make marketing successful you need to follow these seven steps.

  1. Stick a pin in your company history and work exactly why you exist. What is it that you do that’s unique, who are your perfect customers and what do the customers you serve want/need.
  2. What do you want out of it? More sales? More visits? More recognition? Work out what it is you actually want to get from marketing then set a goal or goals.
  3. Timeline – work out when you want to achieve the goals, having more than one is ok.
  4. Make a strategy, this should include who you’re targeting, what you’re going to say, where you’re going to say it, how you’re going to measure the results, how much you’re willing to spend and how long it’s going to last.
  5. Go to work, deliver your message from the rooftops.
  6. When it’s all over, look at the figures, was it successful? Did it return the expected results?
  7. Iterate, it’s ok to not get the result you wanted, don’t be disheartened or put off, as long as you’re measuring the result you should be able to work out why it didn’t work out (if not ask customers for feedback). Adjust the campaign and go again.
